A routine morning

Sunfishstar went outside of her den and looked around the camp, everything has been going really great since they arrived at the new camp even new litters will be born soon, no enemies, a plenty of food around and most important no other clans to fight about territory or prey, there were only some rogues around but it wasn't important.

The leader rapidly padded through the clear, the sun will be high soon and new patrols will be out soon and as she hasn't a deputy for now, she needed to prepare the patrols herself.

She saw Howlingwolf at the other side of the camp and immediately she felt curious about what the tom was doing there and approached the warrior "Hello,Howlingwolf, you aren't going to the sun high hunting patrol?" She thought a bit until saying something more "Maybe I could go with you too, if you don't mind to".

The tabby she-cat followed the tom to the entrance, when she made sure he was ready she raised her voice "Okay, everything prepared?" The leader said calmly but loud even to all of the cats who were in that patrol would hear her, she didn't wanted anybody left behind so she'll talked clearly, "We're going to a hunting patrol near the river, don't stray far away from there" When the she-cat stopped talking she made a gesture to make the patrol follow her.

When they arrived to the river the patrol separated in two to hunt better but neither being so close to not make much noise and scare the prey away "Okay, Howlingwolf, you'll go right and I'll go left, see you when the sun past high" Sunfishstar ordened waiting for Howlingwolf's reply.

The leader seeing her clanmate going to hunt by himself and his apprentice she decided to go by herself, she smelled the air and detected a mouse near her so decided to give it a try, the grey tabby she-cat chatched and killed it quickly, it was nice having having a bit of time for herself and stop thinking about duties and probably she needed a deputy soon but anyway she needed to continue hunting.

Pipitpaw ran where the patrol was when his mentor called in excitment, the brown tabby tom followed the patrol happily and when the patrol divided he stayed with his mentor, "of course I remember" When his mentor speaked he positioned in the hunting pose and tried to catch an shrew but in the last moment it run off of his paws. The apprentice in disapointed he stood up and look at the point where the where the shrew disappeared.

Sunfishstar buried all the preys she had catched and decided she will search for her clanmates to start returning to the clan before the dusk patrol comes, it was New-leaf almost Green-leaf so there shouldn't be much difficulty finding prey in this territory and keep the clan feed, so after she finished burying the prey she started to search for her nearest clanmates; Howlingwolf and Pipitpaw and when she finds them she started watching them and how Howlingwolf trained his apprentice.

The apprentice felt more reconfortated after hearing Howlingwolf's words and watched carefully what his mentor was doing and with his mettle all recovered up he tried to imitate his mentor "This time I won't miss" Pipitpaw whispered with enthusiasm watching a small mice who was searching for food, he launched himself to the mice who almost escaped from his paws and killed it "My first catch!" The young apprentice yelled.

The grey tabby she-cat decided to go out of her hiding spot "Jood job Pipitpaw" Sunfishstar aproached the apprentice mentors "You'll be a great hunter when you become a warrior" The she-cat gave to the brown tabby tom a warming smile "Come on, we'll get our prey and find the others" The leader went where she has buried her prey.

Pipitpaw have a smile to his mentor when Howlingwolf touched his shoulder but the brown apprentice jumped suprised when the grey tabby leader came up from a bush and the brown tabby tom felt embarrasing when tne leader started saying compliments, later he caught his mice and followed the grey tabby she-cat.

The grey tabby she-cat reached the site where she had buried her prey so she caught her prey and turned around to talk to her clanmates "Okay, take my prey and go back to the clan, I'm going to search for the others, we'll meet at the camp" Sunfishstar gave her prey to Howlingwolf and walked again through the forest to search for the other part of the hunting patrol.

Pipitpaw looked at his mentor, the apprentice has never seen his mentor like that, he thought that Howlingwolf was always serious, strong and fearless and now? He's nervous and has fear so when Sunfishstar started to dig up her prey he took adventage and started to talk with the brown warrior "Howlingwolf is something happening?" The tabby apprentice was going to say something more but was interrupted by the leader.

Pipitpaw was frustated he was just in the point where he could know what his mentor was thinking or feeling but then Sunfishstar shut him up, this was the first time he could hate the leader, he thought she was cool but this time he couldn't think of anything else than wasn't hating her...Wait...They where the two alone now nobody could interrupt Howlingwolf of talking "So, what were you up to say?" He said following his mentor to the camp.

The brown tabby apprentice distrust of his mentor, he knew that his mentor wasn't saying all the truth but he couldn't obligate Howlingwolf to talk about everything apart that he was just an apprentice and the most probable thing they do is ignore them. When they arrived he hear his mentor challenging them and the small apprentice didn't thought it two times before running to the entrance of the clan.

Pipitpaw padded inside the camp happily after defeating Howlingwolf in a race "It's not my fault you're slower than a snail!" The brown tabby apprentice yelled at his mentor while he was running into the apprentices den knowing that his mentor would run after him for what he has just said.
